Celebrex could increase the chance of having a heart attack or stroke, possibly resulting in death.

There are many possible side effects that may occur on taking Celebrex / Celecoxib including back pain, dizziness, gas, headache, inability to sleep, nausea, stomach pain, pain or burning in throat and stuffy or runny nose.

Celebrex belongs to a group of drugs called the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) . They help relieve the pain of arthritis, menstrual cramps, and the pain and inflammation of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis of the spine to name a few. The generic version of Celebrex is Celecoxib.

A warning was issued by FDA in 2005 regarding NSAIDs. Celebrex and other NSAIDs can cause potential damage to the system which includes Heart attack and stroke. FDA has advised the doctors to monitor all the benefits and risks of Celebrex and also to think of other options before giving Celebrex to the patient.

Celebrex Interactions with other drugs:



• ACE-inhibitors like captopril, enalapril maleate, and lisinopril
• Blood thinning agents such as warfarin sodium
• Fluconazole
• Furosemide

Take Celebrex (Generic : Celecoxib ) with a full glass of water, food or milk to reduce stomach upset. Do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking Celebrex (Generic : Celecoxib ).
