Flomax (Tamsulosin) Dosage
- Take Flomax once daily, half an hour after the same meal each day.
- Do not crush, chew, or open the capsule. The drug has been formulated in such a manner to dissolve slowly in the body for its maximum benefit.
- If you miss a dose, skip the dose and continue with your next dose and go as per your regular schedule.
- If you miss several doses then resume treatment with dose of one capsule daily.

Flomax (Tamsulosin) Warning
Flomax use has been related to abnormal ejaculation including ejaculation failure, ejaculation disorder, retrograde ejaculation and ejaculation decrease which was dose related. You may also experience infrequent reports of palpitations, hypotension, skin desquamation, constipation and vomiting. The signs and symptoms of orthostasis viz. postural hypotension, dizziness and vertigo were detected more frequently in FLOMAX capsule-treated patients.

Flomax (Tamsulosin) Cautions
Flomax can cause dizziness especially while standing up. Thus it is not advisable to drive or operate heavy machinery under the influence of the drug. Keep FLOMAX capsules and all medicines out of reach of children. Carcinoma of prostrate should be tested first before administering the drug as symptoms of both the disease co-exist. FLomax has been known to cause Intraoperative Floppy Iris Syndrome (IFIS) has been observed during cataract surgery in some patients. Avoid drinking alcohol. It may increase dizziness caused by Flomax.

Flomax (Tamsulosin) Description
General Information:
FLomax is an alpha-adrenergic blocking drug that helps in relaxation of your veins and arteries so that blood flows more smoothly through them. It also helps in relaxation of muscles in urinary bladder and bladder neck which makes urination easier. It recommended for men facing problems of urination due to benign prostatic hyperplasia ( BPH ) or the enlarged prostate. FLomaxdoes not shrink the prostrate but relaxes muscles around it to help in urination.
Important facts about Flomax:
Flomax can result in a sharp decrease in blood pressure. This can cause the patient to faint or start feeling dizzy. Hence the patient should take care while moving from a chair or bed till the time his system gets used to the drug. The patient using this drug should avoid the use of dangerous machinery or any other dangerous activity.
