Nexium (Esomeprazole) Description

General Information:

Nexium is used to treat a condition in which the contents of the stomach flow up into the esophagus. Gastric juices are acidic and therefore produce burning pain in the esophagus. Repeated episodes of reflux may cause esophagitis, peptic esophageal stricture, or esophageal ulcer. It is the reflux of the stomach and duodenal contents into the esophagus. Nexium is also used to treat a gramnegative rod-shaped bacterium that lives in the tissues of the stomach and causes inflammation of the stomach lining. This condition is called Helicobacter Pylori. It is also good for people using NSAID drugs.
Nexium is available in the form of tablets and capsules.
