Eltor 120
Eltor 120 is a medicine used to treat blockage in the nasal passage due to swelling in the nasal membrane caused due to cold, hay fever, allergy or sinusitis. It is also known as pseudoephedrine. Consult doctor before intake and do tell your doctor, if you are allergic to any chemical or substance. Do not take this medicine if you are taking MAOI or have taken it in previous 3 weeks as it may react with it and also do not start taking MAOI , before 5 days of finishing Eltor .It is taken orally, it is available in the form of capsules, Tablets and syrup. It is available in capsules of 120 mg. It is not recommended for the children below 12 years of age. For adults, never take more than 240 mg in a day.
I am pregnant, can I take Eltor?
Consult your doctor before taking Eltor. It is found in the studies that Eltor may affect fetus. It may have adverse effect on weight, growth and bone formation of a baby.
I am a nursing mother, can I intake Eltor?
Refer your doctor if you are a nursing mother as Eltor may mix with milk and can cause adverse effect on baby’s health, especially newly born baby.
What are the methods to take this medicine?
Never chew or crush this medicine. Take it as a whole. If you are not able to swallow this medicine as a whole, mix it with jelly or jams to ease the intake.
I missed one of the doses yesterday, what can I do if I miss it again?
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember however if it is time to take another dose, miss the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not take double dose to make up the for the miss dose.
How can I store the medicine?
Store the medicine at a room temperature. Do not expose to heat, direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it away from children’ reach. Do not refrigerate the syrup. Dispose of the extra medicine carefully.
Could you please let me know the side effects of Elton?
You may face some side effects after intake such as seeing or hearing to the things that are not present, high blood pressure, palpitation, problem during urination, drowsiness Etc. These side effects may wither within 1 or 2 weeks as your body may take time to adjust with the medicine. Some other serious side effects may be palpitation, increase in the rate of heart beat, restlessness, sleeplessness. Consult your doctor if the symptoms remain. Do not take medicine more than or longer than prescribed.
