Drontal plus (praziquantel / pyrantel pamoate/ febantel) is broad spectrum dewormer which is used in the treatment of tapeworms, roundworms in dogs and provides quick and easy relief in treatment of these diseases. This medicine is also approved by the food and drug association for use in dogs and puppies. This medicine should only be used when prescribed by the veterinarian or pharmacist.

Do I need to give Drontal Plus to my dog directly or with food?
Drontal Plus can be given either given directly or can be mixed with food as well. Some medicine may require your pet to starve before giving it, however, in case of Drontal plus it is not required and recommended as well.
Will there be any side effects by using this medicine like vomiting etc?
There are very less chance of any side effects caused by this medicine. However, it may cause vomiting, irregular bowel movements and loss of appetite in some cases. Whenever you notice such kind of symptom in your pet, it is better to talk to your veterinarian or pharmacist.
When and how often should I start giving this medicine to my pet?
Drontal Plus should only be given when prescribed by the veterinarian. However, it is advisable to worming process when your pet is at least 2 weeks old and continues worming until when it reaches 12 weeks old. The adult dog should be wormed 4 times a year. However, in some cases more frequent worming is required in pets that are experiencing repeated flea problems.
Can I also catch worms from my pet?
Yes, especially when your dog is suffering roundworm disease. You should maintain good personal hygiene as human beings can contact tapeworm from animals. It is highly recommended to clean up stools to prevent reinfection. Children are in greatest risk of catching worms from pets. You should also eliminate your pet from fleas and do not keep uncooked meat or fish in open area.
Can we give Drontal plus to pregnant or nursing pets?
This medicine can be used for the treatment of worms in pregnant and nursing bitches only if prescribed by your veterinarian or pharmacist.
