Do not use ANBESOL Max Strength Gel for more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor/dentist. Using ANBESOL Max Strength Gel If sore mouth symptoms do not improve in 7 days; if irritation, pain, or redness persists or worsens; or if swelling, rash or fever develops, see your doctor/dentist promptly. Do not exceed recommended dosage for ANBESOL Max Strength Gel . Do not use ANBESOL Max Strength Gel if you have a history of allergy to local anesthetics such as procaine, butacaine, benzocaine or other \"caine\" anesthetics. Avoid contact with the eyes for ANBESOL Max Strength Gel . Keep ANBESOL Max Strength Gel out of the reach of children. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. Store ANBESOL Max Strength Gel at room temperature.

Benzocaine is a local anesthetic (numbing medication). It works by blocking nerve signals in your body. Benzocaine topical is used to reduce pain or discomfort caused by minor skin irritations, sore throat, sunburn, teething pain, vaginal or rectal irritation, ingrown toenails, hemorrhoids, and many other sources of minor pain on a surface of the body. strong>Benzocaine is also used to numb the skin or surfaces inside the mouth, nose, throat, vagina, or rectum to lessen the pain of inserting a medical instrument such as a tube or speculum. Benzocaine topical may also be used for other purposes not listed in this medication guide.
