The dose can be 37.5 mg or 75 mg as prescribed by the doctor

Patients who have high blood pressure, any kidney, heart or liver related disease should be prescribed Effexor with caution.
If there is an increase in patient?s blood pressure after taking Effexor, there should be a dosage adjustment.
Effexor increases the heart beat rate; hence, it should be taken with extreme caution by patient?s who have had a recent history of heart attacks.
This medication also leads to involuntary withholding of body wastes in adults. Patients should get themselves checked regularly from their doctor if they have eye disease called glaucoma.
Effexor leads to redness of the skin.

Side effects while taking Effexor (Venlafaxine) might include loss of appetite, stuffy or runny nose, increased sweating, dryness of mouth, trouble in sleeping, abnormal dreams, dizziness, heart burn, unusual tiredness or weakness ,anxiety or nervousness, chills, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, weight loss, drowsiness, nausea, stomach pain or gas, trembling or shaking.

Effexor is used for the treatment of Anxiety and Depression. There are 2 chemicals in the human brain namely Norepinephrine and Serotonin . Venlafaxine helps by maintaining the balance between the two.
The symptoms of Depression are mood swings, feeling tired, appetite change, slow thinking process or loss of concentration.
The symptoms of Anxiety include lack of concentration, tiredness, irritation, insomnia or tensed muscles.

Effexor should never be taken coupled up with MAO inhibitors, antidepressants. If a patient is already on any of the anti depressant drugs or MAO inhibitors, he should keep a gap of about 15 days before taking Effexor .
One should not BUY Effexor if you are allergic to it. The patient should visit his doctor regularly while he is taking Effexor Medicine. Please ask your doctor before you stop taking Venlafaxine.

• Any other anti-depressants such as amitriptyline (Elavil), amoxapine (Ascendin), citalopram (Celexa), clomipramine (Anafranil), desipramine (Norpramin), escitalopram (Lexapro), fluoxetine (Prozac), fluvoxamine (Luvox), imipramine (Tofranil), nortriptyline (Pamelor), paroxetine (Paxil), protriptyline (Vivactil), sertraline (Zoloft), or trimipramine (Surmontil)
• almotriptan (Axert), frovatriptan (Frova), sumatriptan (Imitrex), naratriptan (Amerge), rizatriptan (Maxalt), or zolmitriptan (Zomig)

Effexor should also not be combined with alcohol

Take Effexor medicine as prescribed by the doctor. The capsule should not be crushed or broken but should be taken as a whole tablet. It should be taken at the same time every day.
The patient should also pay regular visits to the doctor till the time he is taking Effexor medicine.
