The recommended Fosamax dosage for women is 5 mg daily or 35 mg once a week. In case of Paget's disease, the dosage is 40 mg everyday.

• People suffering from renal insufficiency, GI ulcers, gastritis, esophageal disease should take Fosamax medicine cautiously.
• People on Fosamax medication should not take NSAIDs as they worsen the drug's side effects.
• People who have undergone any radiation therapy or are suffering from any form of cancer are more likely to develop Osteonecrosis which indicates decreased bone mass of the jaws.

General Information:

Fosamax is a drug that reduces the resorption of bone and hence prevents osteoporosis in men and women. It also treats several other bone diseases such as Paget's disease which is characterized by enlarged and deformed bones. Fosamax is available in the form of tablets.

Important facts about Fosamax:

People allergic to Fosamax and its ingredients should not Buy Fosamax.
People suffering from decreased levels of calcium in the blood, kidney problem, stomach ulcerations or are deficient in Vitamin D should not take Fosamax drug without the doctor's consultation as they might need a dosage adjustment.
Patients who cannot sit or stand straight for at least half an hour after taking Fosamax dose can suffer from serious esophageal abnormalities.

Fosamax tablets should be taken exactly as prescribed. The dosage should not be increased or decreased on your own without the doctor's recommendation. The medicine should be taken with water before meals. No beverage or food should be taken for at least half an hour after the dose and the patient should not lie down or recline for next 30 minutes after the dosage. The tablet should be swallowed as a whole and should not be crushed or chewed.
