Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) Dosage
In case of children less than 6 months old, the dosage should be 1-3 mg per kg per day to be given in 2 doses.
In children between 6 months to 2 years old, the dosage should be 1-3 mg per kg per day to be given n 2 doses. The maximum amount given should not exceed 37.5 mg in a day.
In children between 2-17 years, the dosage should be 1 mg per kg per day. The maximum amount given should not exceed 50 mg in a day.
In case of adults, the dosage in patients with Edema should be 25-100 mg per day. The maximum should not exceed 200 mg in a day.
In case of high Blood pressure, the dosage should be 12-50 mg in a day.
In case of Elderly people, the dosage should be 12-25 mg in a day.
