General Information:
Yasmin contains Drospirenone that acts as a progestational agent; used in combination with an estrogen component as an oral contraceptive. Yasmin works by stopping a woman's egg from fully developing each month. The egg can no longer accept a sperm and fertilization is prevented. It is available in the form of tablets and each Yasmin tablet contains 3 mg drospirenone and 30 mcg ethinylestradiol. It is indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women who elect an oral contraceptive.
